Detective Sheehan, Corporal Ronnie Fox, and Narcotics Agent Billy Morgan were killed when their plane crashed into Jack Fork Mountain in south eastern Oklahoma. The officers were searching for marijuana fields at the time.

Detective Sheehan was survived by his wife and daughter.
