David B. Searcy

Patrolman David Searcy was killed when his cruiser was struck from behind in Catawba County while he assisted another trooper.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation named a bridge over Interstate 40 at Startown Road in Hickory North Carolina in honor of Patrolman Searcy.

Patrolman Searcy had previously served with the United States Air Force and was survived by his wife and two children.

On today, the 55th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a LEO but for our Country as well when you served in the USAF. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
