Officer Marion Screws and Officer Clarence Kettles were shot and killed in a gunfight with a man on West 10th Street.

The suspect was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to one year in prison.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
