Lee was a big guy that was also athletic. He moved to the small town of Wellborn, Fl, about his 7th or 8th grade from Pa I believe. We were amazed at how well he did in sports- baseball and football. In baseball he was a catcher and football, offense fullback and defense, tackle. I was in the army in Korea, transferred home Christmas, 1964, and a few days after I was home Lee was killed. My Father was a lawman and we went to Lee's funeral together. Having played sports with Lee so much and graduating with him I felt a personal loss. I also felt a loss for our culture, as Lee was only doing his job and victim of a senseless act. He was a great person, good citizen and represented our Law Enforcement well. The killing of Officer Moyer in a traffic stop, Callahan, Fl, on September 24, 2021, brought back memories of my friend Lee Scott. God bless those protectors of us in their work.
