Patrolman Sanger was killed when a suspect hit him in the head with his own nightstick. Patrolman Sanger had responded to a disturbance on Bleeker Street and was arresting a suspect when that suspect took Patrolman Sanger’s night stick and struck him in the head with it killing him instantly. The suspect was later arrested by other officers.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
