Sergeant Ruben Almanza was shot and killed while searching for a robbery suspect.

The subject shot Sergeant Almanza through a fence from an adjacent yard. The man was shot and killed by other responding officers.

Sergeant Almanza was assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division.

ODMP is participating in the CrowdRise Giving Tower Holiday Challenge, an annual fundraising competition that runs from November 24th through January 7th and raises millions of dollars for charity.
