Sgt. Romero, so many years have passed but you are still loved and remembered by so many who had the chance to know you. I was only a little boy growing up in El Centro when the accident happened but I was told about it by my parents. My father was your son Matt's 5th grade teacher. In later years I became Matt's friend. I am now a police officer in Northern California and I thank you for serving Imperial County and making the ultimate sacrifice. Your memory lives on and the people of the imperial valley will never forget.
