Patrolman Charles Rogers was killed in an automobile accident while patrolling Route 1, approximately three miles south of Vero Beach, Florida.

He suffered a fractured skull as a result of the accident, which occurred at about 3:00 am.

Patrolman Rogers was survived by his wife.
