Officer Eugene Reid was shot and killed as he intervened to assist an assault victim.
While on patrol, Officer Reid observed a man attacking a woman on the street. As Officer Reid rushed to the scene, the man displayed a gun and fired a shot. Although wounded, Officer Reid returned fire. He died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
