Patrolman Redder was stuck and killed by a fire truck going to a fire on Main Street. Patrolman Redder had been assigned to direct traffic in the area in an effort to ease the congestion so fire trucks could get to the fire.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your sacrifice was made so many years ago. Time never diminishes respect. Rest In Peace
