Officer Ponton was killed in a motorcycle accident while responding to an officer needs assistance call. While en route an oil truck turned in front of him causing a collision.
Officer Ponton had been with the agency for six years and was survived by his wife.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
