Officer Pollock was shot and killed during a foot pursuit of an armed robber. He and his partner were eating lunch when a call came of an armed robbery across the street from the restaurant. The officers observed two suspects run out of the business and gave chase. Officer Pollock chased one man into a residential area. As Officer Pollock ran through an opened gate the suspect ambushed him and shot him in the head. The suspect was then shot and killed by Officer Pollock's partner.

Pat, You are not forgotten. I named my son after you, his name is Patrick Joseph Tilley-Ashmore. He was born on Jan. 2, 1990. He lives in Pueblo, Colorado, in a beautiful home that is paid for, his car is paid for. Like you, he has
graduated with honors from PCC/ He works in the call center.

Your brother Michel and his wife had a baby born on your birthday Feb. 3, 1988? named Patrick Joseph Pollock.

Many poems and songs have been written about you. You died a Hero as you wished. A program has been started in your name. The Patrick Pollock cops and robbers program and a radio gifts for children at Christmas continues over 30 years later. Special Training programs have formed because of you.
