Officer Steven Pinkelton was shot and killed when the restaurant he was in was robbed. He was off duty but in uniform waiting in line when an armed robber entered, grabbed him from behind, and shot him in the back of the head.

The suspect was apprehended and convicted of the murder. He has a parole hearing in March of 2015.

Officer Pinkelton had served with the Metro Nashville Police Department for six years.

My brother Officer Steven Pinkelton died July 27,1978. I hope people remember the man he was. He severed in Vietnam received a Bronze Star. He loved being an Officer he loved helping kids to like the police. Please don't forget him, he gave his life to protect us.
