I was a young deputy, with just a year on the dept. when I got to know Off. Percival. I had a beat that included a portion of Int. 280. He and I would meet most days for a "cup" of just "87" at 280 and Sand Hill Rd. to talk a little. He always had a smile a good story. He was very proud his non-accident motorcycle record with the dept. and would always tell me to be careful. I had left meeting with him not an hour before he was killed. I have thougt of him often throughout the many years since that tragic day. I just retired 7 months ago, I wish he could have also. God Bless.
