Trooper Pellot was shot and killed when he and his partner stopped two suspects who were wanted for shooting another trooper. Trooper Pellot was shot and killed when the suspect secured a weapon inside the vehicle. The suspect then fled to Indiana where he shot and killed Indiana State Police Trooper William R. Kellems and wounded two other officers. The suspect was finally shot and killed when he tried to run a police roadblock.
