Corporal Brady Paul was shot and killed by two suspects, a man and a woman, who robbed a grocery store.

The suspects fled to Arizona where they shot and killed Deputy Lee Wright of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department. Both suspects were apprehended returned to Pennsylvania, where they were executed on February 23, 1931.

Corporal Paul had been with the Pennsylvania Highway Patrol for four years and was survived by his mother.
