Raymond Stetson Oyler, Jr.

Patrolman Raymond Oyler was killed when his police car was struck head-on by a drunk driver travelling at approximately 80 mph at the intersection of 7th Street and Jefferson Street.

The officer had just dropped his partner off at police headquarters and was returning to the city garage when the incident occurred.

Patrolman Oyler is survived by his daughter and two sons.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 41rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
