Patrolman William O'Neil was shot and killed by a suspect he had just arrested.

Patrolman O'Neil arrested the man for neglecting to support his family and was taking the suspect to Police Headquarters. The suspect broke away from Patrolman O'Neil, drew a gun and shot and killed him.
