Park Policeman Harry Olsen was fatally injured when he crashed head-on into an automobile in Lincoln Park.

Policeman Olsen, a member of the department's motorcycle division, was pursuing a speeder on Outer Lake Shore Drive between Belden and Webster Avenues.

He was a WWI veteran.

On today, the 93rd anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army in Europe as a member of the 33rd “Golden Cross” Division fighting the Germans during World War I.
