Officer O'Hanlon was struck and killed by a truck carrying hazardous chemicals when it rammed a van he had stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 95 in the Northeast. He was trapped under the van.

Officer O'Hanlon was 19-year veteran of the force.

Officer O'Hanlon was survivee by his wife and four children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 26th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

How proud you must be that your family has continued your legcy of protecting and serving.
