Your message: To Whom it May Concern: It is my understanding that Eugene Lee Standerford, TDCJ #00718972, may be eligible for a medical parole as early as the week of August 12th, 2012. I respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to inmate #00718972. This inmate was directly responsible for the death of Fort Worth Police Officer Alan Chick, a devoted father, husband, and police officer. Just three days before Christmas, Officer Chick was fatally injured while keeping the citizens of Texas safe from habitual drunk drivers like inmate #00718972. Inmate #00718972 has shown nothing but a complete disregard for the safety of his fellow citizens and law enforcement officers. Prior to killing Officer Chick, he had been arrested an unbelievable 22 times for drunk driving. If released for any reason, there is absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind that he will drink and drive again and, in all likelihood, kill someone else. As a concerned citizen, and in the interest of public safety, I again respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to inmate #00718972. Justice demands that he be made to spend every remaining day of his life in prison. Sincerely,
