Your message: Dear Parole Board Members: I ask that you please DO NOT grant parole to Salvatore V. DeSarno, inmate #81A1798. The inmate's violent murder of NYPD Police Officer Cecil Sledge in 1981 should preclude any consideration for parole. On Monday, January 28th, 1980, Officer Sledge conducted a traffic stop on inmate #81A1798. During the stop inmate #81A1798 shot Officer Sledge and then dragged his body with his car for a quarter mile. Inmate #81A1798 had already shot his girlfriend before murdering Officer Sledge, and then took an elderly woman hostage after the murder. Inmate #81A1798 is an extremely violent person and has already been denied parole four times. It is clear he poses a clear and present danger to the citizens of New York. Inmates who take the life of an officer should be subject to serve their full sentence, without parole. In the case of inmate #81A1798, a life sentence for murder should mean just that. As a concerned citizen, and in the interest of public safety, I am asking that you DENY PAROLE to #81A1798. Justice demands that he be made to spend every day of his life in prison. Sincerely,
