It is with a very sad and heavy heart I write this reflection. Brave and handsome K9 Hemi, you have rightly earned your place in Heaven. You’ve made the world a better place with every step you took. You’ve left paw prints on my heart and and everyone whose lives you touched. You’ll never be forgotten. Rest In Peace!!!

K-9 Hemi, God is keeping every single tear cried for you in His hands and is fashioning them into a collar of stars for you! You fearlessly made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. May God shower down His peace, comfort and provision on your grieving partner and the department. You will always live on their hearts and in the hearts of the K-9 family. Always remembered!

A HEAVENLY HOME…

Are these magnificent creatures now with the Lord Himself in the Heavenly Realm? Pastor and Author Randy Alcorn at EPM.org certainly feels this is factual, and even devoted 2 chapters of his best selling “Heaven” book to establish his case. Many of his inspiring articles are at: https://www.epm.org/search/?q=Animals+in+Heaven. We can also get a glimpse of the Glorious Reunions awaiting their devoted Handlers, Trainers and Owners at ImagineHeaven.net May the Good Lord comfort these intelligent and brave animals and their human family and caring departments accordingly…

I was in clinicals with one of Hemi's handler's neighbors, and she told me about pup's passing. Having dispatched in the past and since I'm still friends with K9 officers, my heart immediately went out to the department, and to the handler especially. I am so sorry for your loss. Hemi, thank you for your service!

A Prayer for K9 Hemi

Thank you for your law enforcement service to the citizens of the State of Arkansas and to the Arkansas State Police. Let us celebrate your accomplishments and remember your selfless sacrifice in the Line-of-Duty. In Luke 3:6 Jesus promised, “And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” So, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! All dogs do go to heaven because you have a spirit that epitomizes God's unconditional love. After all, DOG is GOD spelt backwards! Now, my furry, four-legged Comrade-in-Blue, rest easy, we will take it from here.

"Well done, good and faithful servant" [Matthew 25:11 ESV]

A Police Dog's Oath:

"I will lay down my life for you and expect nothing but love in return. I protect my officer with my life, and would gladly take a bullet in his/her place. I am sent in to find lost children and fugitives on the run. I find drugs and weapons and even bombs. I am the first sent in and sometimes the last to leave. I am the nose and ears of my officer. I will protect and serve my officer. I would die for my officer and for you. I only ask for compassion and a kind word in return."

Almighty God, the Arkansas State Police was fortunate to receive the gift of Hemi from You. Now that he has left this life, please help them cope with their loss with strength and courage. I know that their beloved companion no longer suffers, and will live on in many fond memories. May he always be remembered as a trusted colleague who completed his missions with true dedication as he was trained, as well as, the unconditional love he provided his handler and caregivers. May the Lord God bless you always. In Jesus’ holy and mighty name, I pray. Amen.
