Reflections for K9 Rico

The AST has been one of my fave agencies and TV shows. Protecting the Last Frontier isn't just being a guardian of the 49th(which apparently is their new motto), it's about to lay down your life for the state. Thank you K-9 Rico, Bork in Peace.

Thank You Rico, and thank you to Rico's handler. The bonds we share with our partners are indescribable, and this is even more true for the K9's. Your willingness to share daily with Rico is not overlooked. We mourn with you and we pray for peace for you and your family.

Officer K9 Rico will always be a true hero, just as his human officer partner Christopher is and all other officers in law enforcement. My heart is breaking for the loss of Officer K9 Rico. He was the best of the best. I believe God knows what a truly brave and dedicated officer he is and wanted to put him to work in Heaven. He'll be comforting newcomers and watching over you all from Heaven. God bless and comfort everyone that loved Officer K9 Rico. He will be remembered and cherished forever.

I agree that K9 Rico was a gift from God. He did his job exactly as he was trained to do. He gave the ultimate sacrifice out of love and loyalty.
K9 Rico is a true Hero. It's so sad that his life was cut so short. But he will always be remembered for saving lives of his fellow officers and civilians.

And I agree that God met him at the gates of Heaven and said, "Well done my good and faithful servant!" I look forward to meeting Officer Rico in Heaven some day and shaking his paw.

My thoughts and prayers go out to K-9 Rico's handler, family and friends. Your loss must seem unbearable. I hope your good memories comfort you as time heals your heart. Once you had a K9 partner's love, and that special bond, you are forever changed.

K9 Rico:

Thank you for your law enforcement service to the citizens of the State of Alaska and to the Alaska State Troopers. Let us celebrate your accomplishments and remember your selfless sacrifice in the Line-of-Duty. However, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! Now, my furry Comrade-in-Blue, rest easy, we will take it from here! May the Lord God bless you, your family, your friends, and your colleagues always.

"Well done, good and faithful servant!" [Matthew 25:21 ESV]

Let us Pray: Almighty God, the Alaska State Troopers was fortunate to receive the gift of Rico from You. Now that he has left this life, please help them cope with his loss with strength and courage. We know that this beloved canine hero no longer suffers, and will live on in the fond memories of his loyal and dedicated law enforcement service for which he was trained. We pray that his accomplishments and unconditional love have enriched the lives of others and that he will forever be remembered by all those who loved and cared for him. After all, DOG spelled backwards is GOD! Amen
