Reflections for K9 Jojo

It's an absolute terrible thing, it truly is. One moment, you're both involved in something routine and in a single second, not only does one of the worst possible things happen but it's something the farthest away from what you would ever expect. Then, as if that wasn't enough, you end up losing a finger during such a desperate attempt. Terrible, is the only way to discribe the entire incident and it happens to be something that I'm familiar with only I was totally helpless when my dog fell into a raging river. I almost killed myself on the rugged shore trying to run after her until I finally lost sight and never found her. Both of these stories are very heart felt for me and I want to say that I'm so very sorry.

I had a similar experience with my own dog, and friend, Smokey. He had swallowed a large chunk of chicken and began to act funny, he stumbled sideways and went to the floor. His eyes rolled back white, I was able to attempt heimlick but it did not avail. I was able to reach way in and did get the piece out. He came to and lived. I'll never forget that feeling. I am very sorry for this brave, great K9 Officer's Death. These K9's are the Highest example of bravery, loyalty and goodness. Godspeed Officer Jojo. Regards & sympathy to his partner. - Mike Glennon

As a k-9 handler it is always tough loosing your furry friend & partner. I only hope that time will heal your wounded heart & allow yourself to move past this terrible tragedy. I hope you will feel & experience the grace of God which will help you get past this unsettling experience.

A Prayer for K9 Jojo:

Thank you for your law enforcement service to the citizens of San Bernardino County, California and to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Let us celebrate your accomplishments and remember your selfless sacrifice in the Line-of-Duty. However, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! All dogs do go to heaven because you have a spirit that epitomizes God's unconditional love.

And He [Jesus] said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise" [Luke 23:43].

Now, my four-legged furry Comrade-in-Blue, rest easy, we will take it from here.

"Well done, good and faithful servant" [Matthew 25:11]. May the Lord God bless you always. Amen
