Reflections for K9 Nash

Thank you for your service. You are a hero and one I will never forget. Your start in life seemed unfair...but you certainly made up for it. God Bless and RIP Officer Nash. You did what you were bred to do and did your country and handler proud.

I raised Nash from 11 weeks until he was placed with ATF. A more loving Malinois can not be found, yet he was a Malinois who had to have a job and was very serious about that work, he needed much more than I could give him. He found his true calling with Jeff and the ATF. My heart is broken not only for myself, but for SA Jeff Kunz and for ATF as a whole. Nash was an exceptional dog and soul. I am thankful that no other lives were lost during this operation.

You say I'm "Just a Dog" then why would it be,
if you spell my name backwards god is what you see
I have many jobs, one is protecting your life
or making sure your family's safe
when that prowler is out at night.
My Prayers to Ivan and his Partner and the Department

I had only the briefest opportunity to cross paths with Nash and his Handler. An occassional morning run passing them in the opposite direction gave me a glimpse of the power and energy in both. I can only thank them for protecting us and chasing the bad guys. Nash is a hero to me and my condolences to his family.

Nash, the sweet Mal I only got to see a few times at the range or on ops. You were a beautiful dog, loyal, faithful and loved by all. Especially by Jeff, whose bond with you will not be broken, even in death. Be at peace, knowing you did you job well and that you will not be forgotten. Heartfelt condolences to Jeff and his family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Nash, it was a pleasure to know you buddy. We flew with the CBP guys the other day, they were talking about another handler and his k9 wanting to go up in the black hawk. They questioned the handler and said no way. The handler, told the pilots he had heard that an ATF K9 got to go up and fast rope too. They pilots told them they knew Jeff and they knew Nash and that these were the only two they trusted in the hawk! RIP buddy, you are a hero, watch over your team and keep them safe.
