K9 Ingo was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a bank robbery suspect.

He and his handler had cornered the man behind a staircase inside of an apartment complex. The suspect emerged and opened fire, striking K9 Ingo as he protected his handler. His handler returned fire and wounded the subject.

K9 Ingo had served with the Metro Nashville Police Department for five years.
