Access ODMP on Ancestry.com
ODMP has joined with Ancestry.com to allow genealogists and family researchers access to ODMP memorials directly on Ancestry.com.
Members of Ancestry.com can now add all information available on an officer's ODMP memorial to their family tree or shoebox using the "Officer Down Memorials, 1791-2009" collection. Most memorials on ODMP can be added to your Ancestry.com family tree right now. *
Not an Ancestry.com member? Join now through the ODMP and a portion of your membership fee will be donated to the ODMP.
* Memorials for fallen officers added to ODMP after 2008 are not yet available to Ancestry.com.
Obtain Historic Records Held by ODMP
The ODMP holds historic records for approximately 25% of all officers who have memorials on the ODMP. The type of records vary for each officer, and are primarily old newspaper articles, death records / certificates, or photographs. A non-refundable, $20 search fee is assessed to perform a search of our records. Should we locate any records pertaining to your ancestor(s), photocopies will be provided. The search fee is non-refundable, whether or not we locate any records.
Please note: Even if a photograph is displayed on an ODMP memorial, there is no guarantee we have a larger version of it on file. A research request is required for us to check our files for original photographs. If one is located it will be provided electronically via email.
Search fees should be sent, with a letter explaining your request, to:
