Badge Number: 1462 Officer Joseph McKeown suffered what is believed to be a fatal heart attack while participating in a mandatory fitness training session. Approximately 30 minutes into the session he began to feel ill and collapsed.
Fellow officers immediately began CPR as they waited for paramedics to arrive. He was transported to Misericordia Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officer McKeown had served with the agency for 1 year and was assigned to the Red Deer Remand Centre. He is survived by his parents, sister, and two brothers. |
