Sergeant Cadieux was killed when a trailer of a semi slid in a curve in the road and a struck the police car coming in the opposite direction on route 309, in L'Ange Gardien, Quebec. His partner Lt. Réjean Coutere, was seriously injured in the accident. Two motorist were also injured in the incident.
