| Corporal Robert Dumas Biographical Info Incident Details Corporal Robert Dumas was shot in the back and killed during a demonstration outside a bus company garage in Montreal. At the time the Montreal Police & Firefighters were out on strike and the Quebec Provincial Police (Sûreté du Québec) were called in to control riots and demonstrations. At another area of the city two Provincial Police Officers were dragged from their vehicle and severely beaten. They were in critical condition in hospital. Corporal Dumas was reported to be a top investigator in a combined RCMP, provincial and city anti-subversive squad. He had 12 years service. Corporal Dumas is survived by a wife and four children.
