Suspect Info: Not available Special Constable Joseph Cormier air engineer, of the Vancouver Detachment and 2 fellow officers died as the result of a plane crash in Okanagan Falls, BC.
Staff Sergeant Stanley Rothwell the pilot was killed in the crash. He had extensive experience as a bush pilot and had been flying RCMP aircraft for 12 years. He was the senior pilot of the RCMP Air Division.
Also killed in the crash was Constable Richard Green of the Penticton Detachment, who had been picked up to assist in the search for a suspected murderer that disappeared into the bush after the suspect shot an RCMP Corporal investigating the murder of a woman.
